The early Palaeozoic volcano–sedimentary evolution of the Khovd and Gobi-Altai zones of the Mongol–Altai Domain was investigated by quantitative petrographic analysis of sediments, whole-rock geochemistry of volcanic rocks, and U–Pb zircon dating.
